JEAN BATTEN ARRIVES LOST £SOO IN NEWSPAPER, THEATRICAL AND FILM CONTRACTS Press Association —Copyright Reed Today, 10 a.m. London, April 29. Jean Batten arrived at Croydon today. She said she was feeling very fit.
“It is grand to be back, though i have lost £SOO in newspaper, j theatrical and film contracts since j Friday because I failed to break . tl;o record,” said Miss Batten.
Mrs. T. R. Barrer, of the Wairarapa Aero Club, welcomed Miss Batten on behalf of her own and the New Zealand clubs. Imperial Airways officially welcomed Miss Batten, who will speak from Broadcasting House to Australia at 6.20 a.m. on Tuesday. Miss Batten will therefore be on the air at approximately G o’clock tonight,
