Rugby, April 26. j Another Empire airway, which will : connect West Africa with the Imperial j air network, is to be inaugurated in the j near future. j Arrangements have concluded between ' ; the Elder Dempster line and Imperial ; Airways to form a joint company to i bo known as Elders Colonial Airways, ! for the purpose of operating air services j in West Africa. ' Arrangements are also in hand for the \ inauguration this year by Imperial Airi ways of an air service from Khartoum I to Nigeria, which will provide a through ! connection from London to Lagos via • Khartoum, Fisher, Port Amy, Maidugari, ! Keno, Kaduna and Illoria. Elders Col- ! onial Airways win operate an extension j from this service to Acora and later to Kumasi and Takorali as soon as suitable | ground organisation is provided in these ! places. i Later it is hoped to provide a service 'to Freetown. Other local services, special charter works, etc., will be developed as the need arises. The Australian Press Association learns that the Londcn-Brindi ' service will I shortly commence to take outward mail. j The time to Brisbane will be reduced I to Hi days, enabling later posting from i I don. i The service will not carry inward mails : from Australia, as departures from Brindisi do not connect with Europe-bound machines.
