GIRL'S CLIMB UP ROPE

CATCHING THE WANGANELLA .INCIDENT ON WHARF Press Association— Conyright. Wellington, November 22. A well known Wellington girl was the principal in an episode at the departure of the Wanganella for Sydney this afternoon. The sailing time was postponed on account of cargo handling and the giri; Informed that the vessel was to go at 5 p.m., left the wharf to go to a shop at 4.15. Her parents on the wharf discovered the ship was about to sail and a search for the missing girl began. She was discovered having tea in a city emporium, and she reached the wharf as the Wanganella was moving away. The ship was stopped on a frantic hail and a rope with a loop was lowered from the deck. The girl was seated in it and was hauled hand over hand up 20 feet of the ship's side amid handclapping from the crowd.
