OBITUARY

Mr. Chas. Coley; Aged 65 Years OLD STRATFORD RESIDENT A widely esteemed and respected resident —Mr. Charles Coley—passed away at his home in Pen ton Street early this morning. The late Mr. Colry had been ailing for the past twoi months and during the last two or three weeks had become progressively worse.

Born in Inglewood, the late Mr. Coley has spent practically ail his life in Taranaki. For many years he farnu ed in the Inglewood and New Ply. mouth districts and then for a time conducted a sawmilling contract business. His engineering knowledge fitted him for a position with the Public Works Department in this district, and later hie was engaged in a similar capacity by the Stratford County Council and the Stratford Borough Council. An unostentatious man the late Mr. Coley became esteemed and respect, ed for his. quiet, .mannerly ways and there are many who were his friends and acquaintances who sorrow at bin passing. Ho was a prominent member of the Catholic Church. He leaves a widow and family of three, as follow, to mourn his death: Mrs. T. Mortimore (Dunedin) and Messrs. L. P. Coley (New Plymouth) and L. F. Coley (Stratford). Interment will take place at the Kopuatama cemetery tomorrow (Sun. day) afternoon following a service at the Catholic Church.
