A communication from the Acclimatisation' Societies’ Association (Wellington) stated that a remit received by them urged that a regulation be enforced compelling property owners to take out shooting licenses before they were entitled to shoot game on their own properties. The Circular also stated that discussions had been held with regard to the matter of the limiting of the availability of fishing licenses to districts in which they are issued, with some system cf endorsement for other districts. Tue matter was favoured by other societies.

Fishing Demonstrations

It was resolved to commence the fisli.ng demonstrations tor novices on bunday, beptember 24, and that an invitation be extended to all interested in the sport. The demonstrations, which will be given by members of tne society, aie to be held at lire ford, King Kuward Park. It was mso resolved to donate tropiues, .tumor and senior cup, for fishing records dur.ng the ensuing year.

The chairman reported on the meeting of Taranaki bociety representatives held at Hawera last week when the matter of amalgamation was discussed. He also reported that the balance of the rainbow trout in the Society's pond would be liberated on Sunday and that the new fish hatchings were satisiactory, there appearing to be a large number. la conclusion, ivir Hunter said that indications pointed to a very encouraging season.
