PROTEST AGAINST EXCHANGE RATE

On a party division to-night the Christchurch City Council decided to support a resolution of protest against the present exchange rate. The resolution had been passed by a public meeting of Auckland ratepayers and was forwarded with a request for support. The motion was carried on the Mayor’s casting vote.
