SHIPPING MACHINERY EXHIBITION

British Wireless. Rugby, Sept. 8, The shipping machinery exhibition which opened to-day at Olympia, London, despite the depressing conditions which have existed in that industry for so long, has produced an extremely healthy and progressive display. It has attracted engineers from all parts of the world and is expected to prove an impetus towards the trade recovery, which from numerous signs appears to be on its way.

Conditions are certainly improving in the shipyards, and last month was the best for years on the Clyde, where five new ships were launched and order for seven others were received. Similar conIditions are reported from the Tyne and other shipyards.
