Contacts Made by Hon. R. Masters EXCHANGE OF COMMODITIES Press Association— Cony right. Christchurch, Sept. 10. An indication that trade treaties with several foreign countries are in negotiation is given by the Acting Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates). Replying to a question at the Opawa political meeting last night Mr. Coates said that the Hon. R. Masters had gone to England as Minister of Industries and Commerce in the hope that he might make useful contact with overseas Governments and traders. Already there were important matters in hand, Mr. Coates said. They did not necessarily affect the tariff but they certainly affected New Zealand’s exchange of commodities with other countries.
