HAWKER'S DEATH

After Dose of Medicine TASTED RATHER BITTER The death occurred suddenly on oaturday evening of Charles Buddy, aged 03, a Bruit hawker, who lived at 145 Great North Road, Grey Lynn, Auckland, with his wife. Mr. Roddy arrived home from work at 4.45 p.ui. in his usual slate of health. Prior to going to bed he look a dose of -a patent medicine and shortly afterwards Mrs. Roddy heard him sliding. A little while later he called out to her, and on going to him she found him shaking. Dr. Drury was summoned and attended to deceased. According to the report prepared hy (he police for the coroner, Mr, W. R. McKean, S.M., who opened the inquest this morning, Roddy, after the doctor’s departure, said to his wife, “O'a, I’m done.” He then lay still. Dr.’ Drury was again called, but Roddy was dead on his arrival. At the time ho took the medicine, deceased remarked to his wife that it tasted rather bitter. After hearing evidence of identification, (he coroner adjourned the inquest sine die. A post-mortem examination was ordered.
