DAMAGE BY GALE IN CHRISTCHURCH
.TERRIFIC SOUTHERLY ROOF BLOWN OFF GUARDSVAN Railway Service Dislocated Press Association —Conyrigbt Christ church, Today. A terrific southerly gale estimated at SO miles an hour caused considerable damage yesterday evening. It blew part of the roof off the guard’s van of the ferry boat express and seriously dislocated the Christchurch -Lytt el ton service. Repairs were executed at considerable risk. Many fences tire down in the city and suburbs.
