■ 0 Southland Opposes Alterations Press Association —Copyright Invereargill, May 8. The Southland Motor Association tonight decided to support the action of the South Island Motor Union in cooperating with the North Island union to prevent alteration of the association's or club's name without authority on the proposal of the Auckland Automobile Association to change the name of the Automobile Association. The president, Mr. D. J. Wesney, said he was in favour of supporting the Christchurch motorists who had formed the New Zealand Automobile Association. He added that the action of the Auckland body seemed to be very high "landed. Dr. Stanley Brown considered the North Island union also acted in a high-handed v/ay in demanding an explanation from the Auckland body.
