HOTEL DESTROYED
FiRE NEAR DANNEVIRKE Press Association—Cnpyrieht. Dannevirke, May 7. The Makotuku Hotel, a wooden twostoried structure, built about 50 years ago, was totally destroyed by fire at 1. o'clock this morning. The licensee, Mr. W. M. Senk, his wife and sister-in-law escaped in their night attire. Nothing was saved. The building, which was owned by Mr. D. Baker, Palmcrston North, was insured. The fire apparently started in the dining-room and a gale was blowing.
