BOUT AT TUATAPERE Press Association—Copyright Invercargill, May 7. In a scheduled 15-rounds contest at Tuatapere on Saturday night Frank Prendergast, list 21b, knocked out George McEwan, list 41b, in the sixth round. The contest was not for the New Zealand middleweight title, of which McEwan is the holder. Prendergast is the recent light-heavy amateur champion of Southland. He fought in the light-heavy and heavy classes at the last New Zealand championship and has now challenged McEwan for the title. The match is to be fought at Invercargill probably in four weeks’ time.
