Better Prices Last Year MARKETS CLOSE STEADY There was an improvement in the Loudon butter market last week, and prices were steady at the close, though the demand was less active. New Zealand salted butter closed at 725-735, and up to 745, an advance on the week of 3s to 4s a cwt. Retail prices in London are; Now Zealand, 9d; Danish, Is a lb. The Empire Marketing Board’s estimate of the stocks of all butters is 984,277 boxes, compared with 529,065 boxes a year ago. . The cheese market also improved last week, New Zealand white closing at 41s-42s] and coloured at 475-4Ss, an advance of 3s to 4s a cwt on tho week.
