Malone, and Miss Massey. Miss Scanlan was delightfully: interesting on the subject of some of her experiences abroad. She possesses a delightful sense of humour, which is such a valuable asset.

On Fridny afternoon Mrs. Leonard Mills, Percy Avenue, was hostess to a delightful china afternoon for Miss Mary Massey, whose marriage takes place shortly. During the afternoon musical items were rendered by Miss Massey, Mrs. Massey, Mrs. Bellringer, Mrs. Sullivan, Miss Sullivan and Mrs. Mills. Practically a whole new executive was elected, with Mrs. Trotter as president, the old executive, with one exception, not, seeking reelection. After the meeting afternoon tea was provided by the entertainment committee (Mrs. H. Hunt, Mrs. Burton and Mrs. H. Graham).

A very pretty wedding was solemnised at Holy Trinity Church on Monday when Miss Patti Ghilds was married to Mr. P. O. Pope, New Plymouth. The bride looked very charming and her popularity was testified to by the crowds of people who attended the ceremony. Mrs. Chilcls entertained her guests at the Medina. The committee of the Plunket Society entertained Miss C. Hooper at Mrs. C>. Hall's residence on Wednesday afternoon, the occasion being to farewell Miss Hooper, who leaves shortly for England and France to attend the nurses' conference. Many eulogistic remarks were made about Nurse Hooper's ' valuable work while in Stratford. The incoming nurse. Miss Mason, was welcomed. Mrs. McDowall. president, presented Nurse Hooper with a beautiful handbag as a little remembrance of her stay in Stratford. Miss Hooper charmingly replied and thanked the committee. Tho fire brigade euchre party—the first of tho season —took place on Wednesday, when there was a large gathering of keen players.
