Meeting of Board /

The Technical High School Board; of Governors met last night, there being present: Mrs. J. W. McMillan, Messrs. H. Trimble, chairman W. J. Poison. Galbraith, A. Ferguson F< Gawith, G. T. Francis, J. McAllister, G. Shaw and the director, Mr. A. H. R. Amess,

It was decided to proceed with the work of replacing the steel window frames in accordance with the recommendations of the district engineer of Public Works.

Mr. Shaw reported upon the work done in the renovation of the cottage saying that tho work had been done most satisfactorily.

Principal's Report The principal. Mr. A. H. R. Amess, reported as under:

I have the honour to report on the work of the school for the past month. The roll is as follows;

General Course.—First" year, girls 10, boys 20, total 30; second year, 9, 10, 19; third and fourth years, 19 37, 56; total 105.

Science Course. —First year, girls 7, boys 31, total 3S; second year, 13, 18, 31; third and fourth years, 14, 28, 43; total 111.

Commercial Course. —First year, 10, 19; third dand fourth years, 19*, 37, girls 29, boys 4, total 33; second year, 21, 2, 23; third and fourth years, 20, 1, 21; total, 77.

Trades and Domestic.—First year. girls 10, boys 16, total 26; second year. —, 21, 21, 47: grand total, 340. Except for the absences caused by a mild epidemic of influenza colds, the attendance has been good. The school work has been carried on as usual, and the term examinations will be held shortly. The department has approved the, appointment of Malcolm Sutton as a student teacher on the agricultural side of the school. The work nrranged at the last : meeting o't the board has been completed and will be reported upon by those in charge of the various pieces ot work.

The Agricultural Committee visited the. farm of Mr. Poison and chose a fine heifer for the Friesian herd. Mr. Poison generously offered Us our pick from the whole of his young stock.I should like to thank him on behalf of the school for the interest he has taken in tlie matter.

The report was adopted and a vote of thanks was accorded Mr. Poison; for his gift. Accounts amounting to £IG2 16s 85 were passed for payment.
