Stratford Senior Team WAITARA DEFEATED The first competition hockey match of the season was played at Stratford yesterday when the Stratford men's
club senior team defeated Wnitara by 8 goals to nil. The game was played under favourable weather conditions and the ground was in splendid order. Waitara were not able to field their strongest team and Stratford were minus one or two of the picked team, the vacancies being filled by emergencies, so that the game was not a bright display Of the stick game. A large amount of the play was of a straggling nature. Scorers for Stratford were Adlam (3), Mclnnes (3) and James (2). Mr. 11. Chatlwick was referee.
