IN ILL-HEALTH

Woman Takes Her Life

The death of Mrs. Rita Hatton at New Plymouth on Sunday morning was the subject of an inquest held yesterday by Mr. W. H. Woodward, S.M., district coroner. The verdict was that Mrs. Hatton had taken her life while mentally deranged.

Dr. W. R. Wade deposed that he was summoned to the house in Fulford Street by the woman's husband. He found that death was caused by strangulation. Edward E. Hatton said his wife had been in indifferent health since the birth of her child in September, though her condition had improved. A certificate as to the condition of Mrs. Hatton's health was given by Dr. D. E. Brown, who had attended her, and was put in by Sergeant McGregor, who conducted the Inquest.
