S.T.H.S. BEATEN IN FINAL

The Kcrin Cup seven-a-side Rushy tournament held at Toko yesterday was won by an Opunake team, five of the players of which were named Collins. The runner-Lip was the Stratford Technical High School team which proved to be a tough proposition even to more seasoned players. The attendance was large and the standard of play good. The games were played to schedule throughout, the organisation work of file secret; ry, Mr. O. Piatt, standing out in this respect.

The winning learn'sained the cup and a miniature for each member, while the school players were each presented with a medal. The trophies were presented at: the dance held in the hall last evening by the president Of the club, Mr. J. Walter. The dance was a success. Mr. Wills' orchestra played the music, supper was catered for by Mr. T. Fetch and Messrs. C. Wilinshurs! and A. Saugster were masters of ceremonies.

Opunake 9 v. School 0. P Collins ran through the ruck to pass to Pepperell, who sprinted along the line and scored in the corner. The kick failed. School was now holding its own in no uncertain manner and at half-time there was no further score. Several minutes of scrambling play followed the resumption _ until D. Collins after running from midfiuld passed to Reg. Collins, who threw tli ball back to Pepperell. Pepperell sprinted over between the, goal and the corner, but Roy Collins' attempt at conversion was too low. Opunake staged a fast passing, dribbling exchange which Doug. Collins finalised with a try. The kick failed and Opunake won by 9to 0. Mr. G. Were refereed. Third <srade Match A Technical High School team defeated a Celtic third grade team al the school ground yesterday by 18 points to five. School showed more combination in their attacks and appeared to be the more fit team.
