ADVENTURE STORIES AND OTHERS

Western and Frontier tales are becoming very popular at present, and there are on the market several good magazines dealing exclusively with this class of fiction. The stories are full of action. Although there is nothing in the way of literature to be found amongst them, they are well worth reading to while away an afternoon. The All Star Magazine for March has a full-length novel, “Guns of the Avalanche,” by Nelson Jorgenson, in which there is sufficient excitement to keep any reader thoroughly interested. The other stories are good of their kind, Mogul Gold, an adventure sea story, is the chief item in “Short, Stories” for mid-February, and Arthur Lowes’ yarn, “A Box of Matches,” has its setting in the Frozen North. “Adventures All” is described as a true story, but it has more thrills than the average fictional one. “West” for early March is a similar kind of publication. TWENTY STORIES A magazine which takes a lot of beating is the Twenty Story Magazine. The contents are all bright and snappy, and cover a wide range of plots. In the March number there are some excellent offerings, the pick perhaps being “Patience,” by J. Symes Major. This story is decidedly original and is very well written. The same can be said of the others. The Twenty Story Magazine is well worth buying. All the above from Messrs. Gordon and Gotch, Ltd.
