I shall be glad, therefore, if you are able to be present at the chief post office next Friday.” A message has also been received by the directors of the Pukemiro and Wilton collieries, although work is still proceeding at their mines. Advice was received at Huntly that
Mr. Kimbell would confer with representatives of the miners at Huntly tomorrow. There is no likelihood of the resumption of work in the mines until after the result of the meeting between
'' Mr. Kimbell and the owners is known. At Huntljr a protest against State in- ; ierventiqn in the. dispute was made by ’ Mr. W. D. Holgate, president of the New "Zealand Coal Mine Owners’ Association. "tPhe association is quite capable of looking after its own affairs,” he said. “I intend to ascertain which company has been responsible for seeking State intervention, and when I ao I will make a further statement on the position.”
