FILM DISAPPEARS

Taken from lleatre Lobby

2,000 FEET OF PICTURE

Wellington, To-day.—The mysterious disappearance of 2000 feet of film from a spectacular production, which forms one of the Easier attractions for Wellington, took place recently. A 16-inch wooden spool, on winch was wound 2000 feet of talking film, was left for a few minutes in the lobby of one of the city's leading theatres, and when the time came to collect it it had disappeared. The reason for this disappearance is Unexplainable, tor the film has no commercial value so far as the general public is concerned, and is of no usewhatever to anyone owning a "home" cinematograph outfit, for "home" talkies have not yet been introduced in this countryIt is thought that some children may have taken the spool just for the sake of getting some film. Fortunately, the distributors of the picture were able to cable their Sydney office in time to get a duplicate copy of the missing scenes sent to Wellington in time for to-day's opening, and the picture will be filmed in its 'entirety. _ _______
