MANCHESTER UNITY
Society officers, directors and trustees of the Manchester Unity Oddfellows arrived at New Plymouth yesterday for the Kith moveable conference, which will open on Monday.
The directors met to-day and deputies for the conference proper will he arriving during the day. To-morrow will be spent in a trip round Mount Egmont, the visitors to be met and entertained by the members of lodges en route. There will be a church service at St. Mary's in the evening. The welcome by the Mayor (Mr. H. V. S. Griffiths) and the conference opening are scheduled for 9 a.m. on Monday . The arrivals yesterday included Bros. H. S. M. Quigley (Dannevirke), Grand Master; T. J. Archbold (Christchurch), Deputy Grand Master; F. Pritchard (Ashburton), Immediate Past Grand Master; C. H. Ambridge (Gisborne), N. Bruce (Palmerston North), E. W. Guise (Wellington), W. McMillan (Auckland) and F. W. Watt (Ashburton), Directors; A. C. Blair and W. H. Madeley (Wellington), Grand Trustees; A. G. Shrimpton (Wellington), Grand Secretary; and G. Read (Wellington), Grand Treasurer. A number of the visitors are accompanied by their wives and children.
