ANNUITY LEFT BY MR. FLANNAGAN The annuity of £SO for 21 years left by the late Mr. P. J. Flarmagan to the New Plymouth Plunket Society is to be set aside for the building fund. In moving the resolution at a meeting of the society the president (Mrs. W. C. Weston) acknowledged the generosity of the donor. Other members of the committee endorsed Mrs. Weston’s remarks and expressed the view that in devoting the first substantial legacy to the society to the purpose indicated the memory of the donor , would be perpetuated. In. recording a vote of sympathy with Mijs, Flannagan and the relatives Of the later Mr. Flannagan, the committee expressed the desire to associate itself with the s citizens of New Plymouth in expressing appreciation of his many generous bequests to the town and particularly;,the one to the Plunket Society. It was considered that Mr. Flannagan’s will revealed, great public spirit, and that gifts such as his gave both courage and inspiration to a community.
