Oddfellows’ Lodge was held this week, there being a large attendance of visitors from; sister lodges in the province. | Tho chairs wfero occupied as follow: j I.P M.G, Sister D. Phillips; N.G., Bro. C. C. Phillips; V.G, Bro. P. G. Harkness. 1 > , It was the occasion of the annual visit of tho district officers and mem- | bers of the management committee, j Midhirst being first on the list of j visits for this year. | Rro. Phillips briefly welcomed the ; District Grand , Master, Bro.' Walton, 1 feljow officers and the visiting mem’faeis’fPom Egmont, Excelsior, Eltham, Manaia, Stratfprd and two North r Canterbury lodges., Lodge honours were accorded them. The District Grand Master addressed the lodge at length on matters appertaining to the order in general and more particularly to the Taranaki district during the past year. I Deputy District Grand Master Bro, Woodley also addressed the lodge on retaining its numerical strength. District Secretary Bro. N. B. Bellringer reported in- detail on the financial part of the lodge business during -the, past year and explained how economies were being effected in order to help members. District Treasurer Bro. Bennett, P.D.G.M., Bro. Clow and Bro. Sherson members of the management com-, mittcc, impressed on _ members the j necessity of co-opcration, .
