A PLUCKY DRIVER
DROVE AWAY FROM PETROL STATION MOTOR-LORRY ON FIRE Auckland. Nov. 5. —A young married man, Mr J. Lindsay, was admitted to the Opojiki Hospital on Friday suffering from very sc_ vene burns on <he face and arms, received when the cab of a motor lorry caught fire outside the Opotiki dairy factory. Mr Lindsay, who was employed by Mr W, Ruff, ('ream contractor, had a six ton lorry beside a bowser at the factory and was filling the benzine lank when, from some unexplained cau.se. the cab of the lorry burst into flames. With great pluck Mr Lindsay .lumped into the cab and backed the lorry away from the bowser. He was severely burned by the time be bad stopped the lorry. Firs) aid was rendered by a woman from a nearby house, and Mr Lindsay was then taken' to hospital. So severe were his burns that it will be many months before they are completely healed. The fire on the lo'i'ry was soon extinguished, little damage being done,
