Mr Murray Thompson has returned from a holiday spent at Auckland. Mr W. F. Clemow has left for a short visit to Mori'insvilie. Mr and Mrs C. S, Lawrence have returned from ;i holiday in Auckland. Among the visitors to Stratford for the opening of the line is Mr Frank O'Connor. Mr O'Connor will he re. membei'ed as the first guard on the Stiatford.Toko branch line. Mr O'Connor was always very popular in the district and played for a considerable number of years for the Stratford senior Football Club. TJio.se Present at the monthly meeting of the Stafford sub provincial executive of the New Zealand Farmers' Union held on Saturday were Messrs M. G. Trotter (chairman). Tvl. P. Ford, R. Corr.v, E. Marfell, R. Aylward, T T. Murray, M. Davis. .Jarkson. B. Richmond, J. Browning and IT. A. Hunt (secretary). Mrs M. Hughson left today for a holiday in Auckland. Mrs Hughson travelled from Stratford to Haeo by the special train this morning and proceeded by the train returning to Taumarunui to make the Main Trunk connection. Mrs Hughson is therefore one of the first if not the first to travel to Auckland via the new route.
