HAY AND ENSILAGE CONTESTS AT TOKO

SOME OUTSTANDING ENTRIES Hay and ensilage competitions were judged at Toko yesterday by Messrs. Evan Jones and G. Were under the auspices of tho Toko branch of the Farmers' Union. The winning entry in the hay competitions was Mr. H. J. Kaye's No. 1 stack, with 53* points from a possible 55 points being allotted for quality. This stack also scored one short ol! the possible for condition and body respectively. The stacks judged consisted solely of meadow hay or grass stack ensilage. There were 15 entries. Eight stacks were entered for the ensilage competition, the winner being found in Mr. A. Marfell, but there were only two points between the first four, and but half a point decided the best, from the runner-up. Details are:
