Sir Hubert Wilkins has arrived for a lecture tour and to attempt to organise another submarine expedition to the North Pole with proper equipment. He asserted', However, that he obtained much valuable scientific data despite accidents. The explorer’s principal worry seemed to be whether the authorities would permit him to sink the Nautilus in deep water in the presence of the American consul. He has since posted a bond for £4OOO to return the craft to the United States and does not wish to forfeit the money.
