BRITISH AND FOREIGN BIBLE SOCIETY
GATHERING OF COLLECTORS On Tuesday afternoon a gathering of British and Foreign Bible Society collectors took place at the home of Mrs. Poison, when workers brought in the money they had collected for 1931. The amount totalled £53 17s 3d, which is very little short of last year’s total. This was felt to be a splendid result, considering the times. A delicious afternoon lea was served and enjoyed by all, after which the president, Mrs. Poison, gave a short address. The Rev. J. MacGregor, in moving a very hearty vote of thanks to the hostess, referred to her keen interest in the society, and to her kindly hospitality. A few cheery words were also spoken to the collectors. Ensign Duggan seconded the motion, which was carried by acclamation. The following were present; Mesdames Colson, Long, Middleton, Penn, Bilkey, G. Smith, P. Harkness, J. McAllister, Huston, J. MacGregor, Duggan, and the Misses Middleton, Lawrence, Long and Lilley, and the Rev. J. MacGregor and Ensign Duggan.
