REDUCED POWER CHARGES
PLEA BY DAIRY COMPANY Press Association. —Copyright. TE KUITI, Thursday, The Piopio Co-operative Dairy Company has notified the Wairere Electric Power Board that in view of the low ruling price for butterfat and more intense competition, it is necessary for manufacturing expenses to be cut down to a minimum. Electric power charges last year ran out to just on 3d per unit, and with outside competitive dairying companies paying a halfpenny per unit off peak load, the position would be apparent to the board. The Power Board promptly decided to ease the position by reducing the charge to 3d for the first 100 units and a penny per unit thereafter.
