LIFE ON AN ISLAND INTERESTING MAGAZINE ARTICLE A feature of the Wide World Magazine for'October,''a copy 'of which wo have just received from Messrs. Gordon and Gotch through Mr. W. G. Liddell, is an article dealing with life on an island in the Hauraki Gulf by Mrs. B. M. Hill. The authoress with her husband and child came to New Zealand some years ago, and the ideal of her childhood to reside on an island was realised. They took up their residence at Kauau, and her description of the life there is fascinating in the extreme. It is a most delightful article in a magazine which provides a wealth of good reading. Another publication received is the 20-Story Magazine, which is up to its usual standing and provides excelleut reading. "The Woman Who Never Got Tired" is an absorbing story.
