Stratford Cubs' Pack A pack of Cubs in connection with the Scout movement has been formed in Stratford. Six enrolments were made at a meeting held recently, and it is hoped that, the full pack of 20 will shortly be established. The meeting was enthusiastic and the prospects are bright. Miss Brown (H&wera) and Mrs. Webley will act as mistresses.
"Carry On ' The life of a dairy farmer at this time of the year is not an enviable one even in the best of times, and with butter-fat worth under Is per pound makes it no more endurable. Early and late hours, with trying harassing work and little hope of adequate returns for labour makes life depressing- even to the born optimist. There are, of course, exceptions where the herd promises to break records, no worry over (he interest and rates, and the ever-present feeling that all things have an end, even a slump. "Carry on" is a slogan which, when lived up to, has brought Britons through many a crisis, and the inherent tenacity to stick has made the race respected and feared by the people of other countries with less courage and a narrower vision. Our dairymen are putting up a great fight under a heavy handicap, and at the. moment the outlook for them seems brighter than it has been for many years.
