PLUNKET SOCIETY
SUCCESSFUL GARDEN PARTY There was a large attendance at the garden party held in aid of the Plunket Society, at the residence of Mr. J. Frederic, Brecon Road, yesterday. The beautiful grounds were most suitable for the purpose, and were most favourably commented upon by those present. After expenses are paid the society will benefit to the extent of about £lO.
The stallholders were: Produce, Mesdames L. Curtis and Haseldine; afternoon tea, Mesdames C. Martin, R. Masters and P. McGrath; cakes, Mrs. G. Dwyer; ice-cream, Mrs. E. H. Young. Competitions were conducted as follows; Bridge, Mrs. G. Hall; skittles, Miss .1. Coleman; croquet, Mrs. R. H. White: novelty golf putting, Misses B. and O. Masters; and fortune-telling, Mrs. R. Marsh. The cake competition was won by Mrs. A. Dickinson, skittles by Miss O. Masters, golf by Mrs. P. Keller, lucky parcel by Mrs. L. Wynyard. bridge by Mrs. J. Lyons and croquet by Mrs. H. Childs. The official opening of- the garden party was performed by the Mayorto.
