48 RUNS IN TWO OVERS
Hitting up 48 in two overs and G 8 in ten. minutes, a batsman named Dudley made cricket history at Anderson Park, Wellington, on Saturday. Off successive balls in one over he hit three sixers, two fours and a single—the latter enabling him to get the bowling again. Then he repeated the performance, or nearly so, and smote two fours, two sixers and a single. Twenty-seven came off the first over and twenty-one off the second.
In ten minutes —so some of the spectators claimed to have timod —he had hit up 68, and was ready for more when stumps were drawn. The match Avas a third grade representative one between Hutt Valley and Town.
