COMPANY LIQUIDATION
QUESTIONS FOR THE COURT
WELLINGTON, March 23. A large number of counsel were present at the Supreme Court to-day when Mr. Justice Blair, on an application made by the liquidator of the Hansford and Mills Company, was asked to decide a large number of questions that had arisen in the course of the liquidation of the company.
The greater part of to-day's proceedings were set aside for the consideration of the question of liens by subcontractors and others in respect, of various contracts in hand at, the time of the liquidation. The contracts mentioned were those of the new milk station, St. Patrick's College, Mount. Victoria tunnel, and the War Memorial. After discussion it was agreed to dispose first of all of all of the claims for lien which were uncontested by the liquidator; secondly, with the contested liens; thirdly, with the validity of the various orders given by the company to creditors in respect of money owing to the company.
The proceedings will probably last for two days or longer.
