BOROUGH COUNCIL REDUCES WAGES

The Stratford Borough Council had a lengthy sitting last evening, when the staff salaries and wages were reviewed, it was decided to make a reduction of 11 per cent, over the whole staff with the exception of those receiving £2OO a year or under, and the services of four men were dispensed with. Altogether this will mean a saving to the council of about £1,300 a year,: The position will be reviewed at the end of twelve months.
