PALMERSTON N., March 21. The Manawatu autumn meeting was opened in fine weather yesterday with a good attendance. The totalisator handled £15,753, as against £20,015 last year, a decrease of £10,202. Additional results:

Golden Wings showed the way along the back from High Comedy and La Poupee. High Comedy joined the leader crossing the top. They turned into the straight together, ahead of Cricket Bat and the trio had the finish to themselves, High Comedy winning by half a length from Cricket Bat,, which was a head in front of Golden Wings.
