WOOL PRICES RISE AT WANGANUI
KEEN COMPETITION FROM CONTINENT Press Association. —Copyright. WANGANUI, This Day. A run of well-sustained buying marked the opening of the Wanganui woo! sale to-day, when 18,000 bales were submitted. The offering principally comprised medium top-making wools, a few super lines being catalogued. Compared with last Wellington sales, the prices quoted were fully a halfpenny a pound higher. The principal competition came from Continental buyers, the home trade operating sparingly. France was well in the market for bellies and pieces. The prices of these were fully a halfpenny a pound higher than Wellington. A few lines of super crossbred brought good competition from Japan and Continental buyers. Compared with last Wanganui sale the prices are from 3d to 4d a pound higher. Good clearances from all catalogues was effected. There was a full bench of buyers.
