Jem Mace’s Visit to Dundee Reg. Trowern, the New Zealand welter-weight champion, is a bit of a humorist. In thanking the Stratford Boxing Association at supper on Saturday night for its kindness, he recalled the story of Jem Mace’s visit to Dundee, when there was a small attendance to witness the fight. Jem’s manager, In his speech, said he was always wanting to go to Dundee, and now r that he had seen it he would be very glad to pay another visit. Mace, who did not usually have much to say, astonished the manager and the company by saying that he also was very pleased to come to Dundee —he had always wanted to go to Dundee —but now he didn’t care a hang whether he ever saw Dundee again! Reg. hastened to assure the Stratford boxing residents that he had no sucn feeling toward their home.
