FARMERS' CO-OP. REPORT

The Farmers' Co-op. report as follows: —The sheep market has eased somewhat during the past week, most farmers having filled up with breeding ewes; however there is still a strong demand for small 2-tooth ewes and wethers, but buyers are experiencing some difficulty in nlling~T;heir requirements in these particular lines. The demand for ewe lambs is also very keen, but very few lines have been placed on the market up to date. The cattle market is still dull. Quite a considerable interest has been taken in weaner heifers, and 18month M.T. heifers. Good calves have been sel. ng from £2 to £2 10s; mixed coloured heifers, from 30s to 37s Gd; inferior lots. £1 to 255; 18-month M.T. heifers have been changing hands from £2 15s to £'3 2s Gd. In-calf dairy heifers are now quoting in the paddock from £6 10s to £7 10s, but so far very few sales have been made. Considerable interest will be shown a\. Cur next "Hawera sal on the 26th March, when Mr. B. C. Lysaght's annual draft of 200 choice 2 and 3-year heifers will be submitted to auction.. This sale should give us a fair idea of the market values.

Store Sheep.—We quote the following prices: Hold-over 2-th ewes, 9s to 10s Gd; 2-th wethers, 8s to 9s. A few lines of breeding ewes are still wanted, but are rather difficult to procure localy. Four and 5-year ewes, 6s 6d to 6s 8d; 5-year ewes, 5s Gd to 8s; failing-mouth ewes, Is Gd to 3s Gd; 22th ewes, from 14s to 16s; gogod M.S. lambs, Gs to 8s; good ewe lambs, 8s to !)s; medium lambs, 7s to 8s; wether lambs, 5s 6d to 7s; cull lambs, Ms to 4s Gd. Fat Sheep.—Fat ewes are scarce and indications are for a rise. Best ewes, quoting to 8s; good others from 5s Gd to ..s ..d; primest wethers, from 9s Gd to 10s Gd. Fat Cattle.—Demand is still dull with ample supplies. Prime bullocks, £7 IDs; prime cows, from £4 10s to £5 Ids; lighter sorts, £3 10s to '£4 ss.

Store Cattle.—-Very few lines are quoting and the market for these particular cattle is very dull. Pigs.—Good yardings are now coming forward; weaner pigs, 6s to lis; god stores, 17s (id to 255.
