MAINTENANCE CASE

WELLINGTON. March 20

David Richards, retired University professor, is to pay his wife, Hinemoa Oorelli Charlotte Richards, solicitor of the Supreme Court, £9 a week maintenance and £ao past maintenance.

This is the decision of Mr McNeil, S.M., who gave reserved judgment today on the claim of the wife for maintenance on the grounds of persistent cruelty. Petitioner was granted custody of the child and defendant was ordered to enter into a bond of £2OO with the Public Trustee that the order would be complied with. Thirty guineas costs were allowed petitioner's solicitor.

Mr Mazengarb for defendant said that an appeal was likely.
