MAN TAKES TO HIS HEELS

WELLINGTON, March 20

Within a few minutes %£ the time she left the fever hospital evening Mrs Isabel Northcote ' of . Pirie Street, was attacked uy a man and struck on the head with a flat iron bar. Assistance came quickly from the fever hospital nearby and. the injured woman was taken soon afterwards to the Wellington Hospital. Mrs Northcote is an employee at the fever hospital and was on her way home when the assault tookvpMnce. After striking her down with- the'- iron bar, the man took to his heels and ran. Mrs Northcote screamed loudly and several people came rushing to her assistance from the fever hospital. An ambulance was summoned and she was suffering from a lacerated wound to the scalp when she was taken to the hospital. Her condition late to-night was reported not to be grave.
