STRATFORD’S UNEMPLOYED

WORK IN THE 'COUNTRY A gang of 20 started work at Tututawa under the Stratford County Council this morning in widening dangerous places on the road. The men will be transported to and from work by the County Council. Fifty of the unemployed are now at work in the south, north, and Maugaehu ridings of the county. Punctually at 7.15 a.m. they left by motor for the scene of operations. Up the Mountain Twenty men went up to (he Mountain House to commence work in connection with the East Committee’s scheme. in the Borough Fifteen new men reported for work this morning at the Labour Bureau. After two gangs of 20 each were sent to Tututawa and the Mountain, there are still about 100 men left at jobs in the borough.
