Mr. G. Jackson, a former wellknown farmer in the Stratford district, is at present on holiday and is staying at the Stratford Hotel.
Mrs. B. Scoble was a passenger for Wellington by the mail train this morning after spending a few days in Stratford.
Dr. W. P. Gordon, of Stratford, who accompanied Professor Marshall Allen on a visit to Gisborne, Rotorua and Palmerston North, has since jerofessor Allen’s departure from New Tfealand been spending a holiday at Taupo. Dr. Gordon will return to Stratford to-night.
Mrs. Clegg, of Wanganui, and Mrs. Cullen, of Hastings, whose house was wrecked in the earthquake, paid a visit to Mr. W. Corkill, of Stratford, in the course of a motoring trip to New Plymouth. They were accompanied by Mrs. Gibb, of Eltham. All the parties were at one time residents of the Tokomairiro district (Otago), and the gathering of old friends was a cordial one.
