Irene Schroeder ("Iron Irene," she was called), a buxom mother, 22 years old, walked calmly to the death chamber, where her married lover, Walter Glenn Dague, followed her ;i lew minutes later. They had been convicted of the joint murder of Corporal Brady Paul, of the State police. "He was a good man; I led him astray," cried Irene, speaking of her lover, and being willing to take the entire blame for the killing. Al. the same time Dague told the officer that he alone was to blame, and pleaded for the woman's release. Unlike Ruth Snyder and Judd Grey, who died with black haired for each oilier, Schroeder and Dague were lovers to the last.
