PRIORY CHURCH CLOSES
WAS ONC£ FAMOUS IN ENGLAND. Founded 700 years ago, the Priory Church of St. John of Jerusalem, Clerkenwoil, London, has closed its doors for the last time. It was originally the Priory Church of the Knights of St. John, who rivalled the Knights Templars in power, and like the Temple Church (that of St. John), was round. The yiear died recently, and the meagre congregation is being transferred to the near-by church of St. James.
