DISCOVERY COMING BACK MUST USE SAILS TO REACH AUSTRALIA ( "~ (Reed. 10.45 a.m.). SYDNEY. This Day. A message from the Discovery, sent at 5.30, says the ship failed to obtain further coal and is returning to Australia. On February 19, following a final landing on Macßobertson Land, the weather held good, but as the coal reserve was very low further extension of the programme along the Antarctic coast was considered uni reasonable. In any case, to reach Australia, the Discovery will have to rely principally } on sails.
