LARGE DEFICIT PROBABLE INCREASED TAXES PLANNED OTTAWA, March 7. Paced with th e prospect of a large deficit for the year, the Bennett Ministry is planning new taxe». It is understood that the sales tax on all manufacturers and retailers will be increased from one to four per cent. A two per cent turnover tax will be imposed on manufacturers und wholesale merchants, and newspaper postage rates and corporations tax will both be increased.
