ANNUAL DISTRICT PICNIC

BIRD AND SKINNER ROADS The annual picnic of the settlers in the Bird and Skinner Roads districts was held yesterday in Mr. W. Boyd's paddock close to the SKinfier Road dairy factory. There was a large attendance, Especially of the younger generation, and the outing proved to be very enjoyable. A comprehensive sports programme , was conducted by the coinmittee In tmarge of the arrangements,, and this occupied the attention of the gathering. The ttlg-of-war competitions between bKinner Road and Bird Road teams were of special interest. Skinner Road won the senior event and Bird Road;was successful in the junior. Last year the honours,'Were just the other way round. The ladies' committee provided luncheon and afternoon tea, and the children were given plenty of fruit and sweets.
